Godamba Rotti / Egg Rotti

Ingredients

4 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup Oil (coconut vege oil/olive oil)
1 ½ -2 cups Water (luke warm)

Step 1
Take a large bowl & add flour & salt in to the bowl. Mix it well.
 Step 2
While you mixing the flour & salt, add water just a little at a time & knead it well till it comes together in to a smooth ball.
Step 3
Pour 2 tbs oil on to the dough and knead it again for few minutes. It’ll help to prevent your hands from sticking to the dough & have the right consistency.
Step 4
Coat the dough with 1-2 tbs oil & cover it with a plastic rap or a lid and let it rest for an hour.
Step 5
Take the knead out and make Small balls similar to golf balls & keep them aside.
Step 6
Take the rest of the oil and pour it on to the dough ball that we made. Coat the balls with oil well & leave the dough balls dip in that oil at least for 5 hours to 12 hours. If you keep it longer like 12 hours, the godamba rotti will come out nicely. So to have best results, make sure to make the dough before 12 hours.
Step 7
Take a one ball of roti. Then using the palm of your hand, start stretching it out on a flat surface. While you are stretching it up, Keep a large frypan on the stove in medium heat. You don’t need to use a rolling pin. Because it’s very soft and easy to stretch
Step 8
Carefully transfer it to the pan. Cook both side until it gets nice golden brown.
Serve it in a plate with a Spicy Chicken Curry or a Dhal Curry.
You can use this rotti to make kottu rotti And also the Egg Rotties. It’s really easy to do. I’ll post the recipes soon.

Hope you’ll Enjoy!
