Sri Lankan Spicy Salsa (Lunu Miris)

Ingredients
1 Large Red onion sliced or 10-15 Shallots
15 Dry Red Chillies
1-2 tsp of Chilli powder
3-4 tbs Maldives Fish medium size pieces
1 tsp Salt (To tase)
Juice of 2 Limes
A Mortar & Pestle or a Blender for grinding
Step 1
Take the mortar & pestle or the Blender and put salt, dried red chillies & juice of 1 lime in to that & grind it up into coarse paste
Step 2
Add onions & maldives fish gently to the mortar or blender & grind again until it mix together & turns into a nice paste.
step 3
Transfer the paste in to a separate bowl. Taste the saltiness of it and adjust salt to taste. Then squeeze the other lime into the paste and mix it well. Adding extra lime juice helps to avoid the strong onion taste & bitterness.
Serve it with Milk Rice or Pol Roties
